Issued 15 July 1945 by Magyar Nemzeti Bank (Hungarian National Bank) during the Provisional Government era, amid escalating post-WWII hyperinflation (which peaked in 1946 as the worst in history). Printed on paper. Size approx. 168 × 82 mm. Main colors: lilac-brown/green/multicolor underprint.
- Obverse: Profile portrait of allegorical woman at right, Hungarian coat of arms (crowned shield) below, denomination “TÍZEZER PENGŐ” (Ten Thousand Pengő), date “BUDAPEST, 1945. ÉVI JULIUS HÓ 15-ÉN”, signatures (e.g., Thaly Kálmán / Propper Sándor variants).
- Reverse: Imitation of Hungarian folk/floral design frame, large “10,000” in center, bank promise text.
- Features: Running serial numbers; no watermark reported; some issues with brown/green adhesive revenue stamp (P-119b variant for validation during shortages). Demonetized/withdrawn 31 July 1946 (replaced by forint); not legal tender – vintage collectible symbolizing early stages of Hungarian hyperinflation.
