Issued 1937 (Republic of China Year 26) by Bank of China; printed by Thomas De La Rue & Company, Limited (TDLR), London, using intaglio on cotton paper. Size approx. 156 × 79 mm. Main color: green/multicolor.

Features: Running serial numbers; no security thread reported. Withdrawn; not legal tender.

Obverse: Bank name at top, denomination “5” at center, portrait of Dr. Sun Yat-sen (left).

Reverse: Bank name at top, denomination “5” and “FIVE YUAN NATIONAL CURRENCY” at center, Bank of China building in Shanghai (right); includes signatures (General Manager / Manager), serial numbers (e.g., CY276825 format), date 1937, and printer text.
